Barite With Marcasite From Rosh Pinah Mine, Namibia
2.35 x 2.35 inches or 6 x 6 cm
in 2006 I acquired this rare Barite on Marcasite from the Rosh Pinah mine in Southern Namibia.  Here's what the original seller Allan Fraser in South Africa said: "Gemmy transparent pale yellow tabular Barite crystals in a cluster on Marcasite."
The Barite crystals fluoresce white and there's red fluorescence on the matrix which I believe is Dolomite. The Barite is also phosphorescent for a while after the UV light is removed.

I've been collecting Namibian fluorescent minerals since 2004 as part of my 16 year Geo Safari Research Project on the fluorescent minerals of Africa.
