This Double terminated Hanksite Crystal has Borax and mud inclusions .
It has several terminations on both ends.
This is a highly fluorescent specimen.

Hanksite is a fluorescent, rare Salt mineral found in only 2 places in the world. (99% of all Hanksite comes from Searles Lake) This piece was found at Searles Lake, where it was discovered by Mr. Hanks in 1888. Once a year for only two and a half hours the lake is open to the public to dig through the mud to find these rare crystals. This crystal was dug up on 10-10-15. Most Hanksite has mud inclusions, as a bit of mud is usually the base that the crystal has formed around. Hanksite opens the third Chakra, is great for meditation and healing, and will make a wonderful new addition to any rock and mineral collection. Being a salt mineral it will be damaged by moisture. Please do not use water to clean Hanksite crystals. Mineral oil will clean and preserve your rare Hanksite crystal.
