This is a mini collection of salt minerals from Searles Lake. "The Big Three." Hanksite Barrel Crystal from the mud. Dipyramidal Hanksite from the blowhole. And Pink Halite from the brine pools.
Hanksite is sodium potassium sulfate carbonate chloride
Hanksite barrel measures 1 1/4 inch.  The dipyramidal Hanksite 1 3/8 inch.  The pink halite 2 1/8 inches.
Both Hanksite Crystal are fluorescent. The Hanksite Barrel Crystal fluoresces stronger then the dipyramidal Hanksite. Both hanksite crystals have small mud inclusion. The pink halite has compact cubic Crystals.
All three are salt minerals. Moisture can damage them. The Hanksites have been oiled to protect and preserve them.
