This is a very large cabinet specimen from Red Cloud of red wulfenite crystals on a dark calcite matrix.
Many of the crystals are complete and undamaged. This is an example of the wulfenite that grew in fissures of the rock at this mine. The contacted crystals are not damaged from mining in this case. If the crystals are in a fissure, they can't develop completely before contacting the other side of the fissure. They still have good crystal faces, corners and edges to appreciate. And excellent red color.
The specimen has green fluorescence under UV SW. White calcite fluoresces green on the top side.
